Well, the idea is to give players the option to play faster if they wanted to.

this is kinda sorta already in there with NF.

After beating the game once, you can use $$$ earned to buy max weapons from other players. And you can get a ferry to Docks to get max armor. Thus, you have max armor+weapons at level 2. The only issue is the Skills, and even those can be unlocked via PvP and be made useable to your PvEs.

edit and bump. I think its a better idea now.

i made it quest based. do certain quests on one character, and it will activate for you other characters.

It is your choice to have 10 character. How about WoW adding x-times xp multiplier for every new character, including x-times increase in loot chance?

GW *allows* you to have multiple characters. It does not *require* you to.

And with PvP unlocks and PvP characters, there is simply no excuse to do any of that.

Rather than that, increase the non-linearity of storyline.
First of all, read please^^. I said that it was because the game took too much effort for me to make 10 characters that I would not be making myself 10 characters. It wasn't because I said that I had the choice of making 10 characters, because I do... but I couldn't spare the time to do so.

This is a problem, becuase instead of having all of these spare slots that could be used for PvE creations, they are instead being utilised as "mule" and "PvP" characters - nothing bad, but there is no drive for someone to create another PvE character over these two.

Those who do have 10 character slots for PvE, good on them, they had the time and the patience to do such a thing, other people, still want to have the same experience, but would rather [b[experience[/b] without the needless time and patience of doing the same thing over and over again.

I totally agree with you on GW increasing non-linearity of the storyline, Alot of the new games that are coming out are doing a really good job with that idea, and it's about time Anet caught up.

The whole point of this suggestion IS to get players that have already completed the game - through quickly. You're right, you should take the time and go through everything that you've paid for, but you should do it once, and then it should be play-for-PLUS type thing. I'm guessing you haven't completely finished a campaign. If you really think you're into PvE that well, then do each campaign with all 4/6/8 characters that you have.... fully.... and then tell us if you think any differently or not^^. Of course, as Lyra said, you don't have to opt for the PLUS feature, its still an option.

ooo... That quest stuff is hot, This could tie in well with the GW mechanics. It can allow Armourers and weaponsmiths to have their own quests that allow you to 'unlock' them for GamePLUS characters. Nice. (And my characters will be able to have some contact with eachother... even if its from a third person... Im so happy)

^^ Actually the backstory to two of my girls: Daria "Duckie" Faddenholsts and Barnette "Bunny" Faddenholsts is that they are sisters and they were seperated when very young. Bunny ran away and Duckie went to Cantha to study monkhood. So they hear about the Char war / Plague in cantha and try to find each other again. T_T but they never will, since your characters cannot meet.

*cough*

Anyway...I posted my ideas on how to play around with this concept ^^

I think its shaping up nicely :3

The first metal gear solid on the PSX had also such a feature. You could finish the game saving the girl, getting a bandana, which gives you unlimited ammo, or rescue the scientist, getting a stealth cloak.
